Hi. http://toroid.org/ams/snd/ckbs.mp3 I made this recording (Olympus LS-11, internal mics) a couple of days ago at the Chintamoni Kar Bird Sanctuary on the outskirts of Kolkata, in eastern India. The sanctuary is small (17 acres), but a well known migrant trap, and one of my favourite haunts when I visit Kolkata. There are several birds audible here, the loudest being the Asian Koel (Eudynamys scolopaceus) and later a Lineated Barbet (Megalaima lineata). But you can also hear a Common Tailorbird (Orthotomus sutorius), many Rose-ringed Parakeets (Psittacula krameri), the clear whistles of a White-throated Fantail (Rhipidura albicollis), etc. Comments welcome. -- Abhijit |
