Hi. Here's a recording of some Baya Weavers in a tree at the edge of a bajra (Pennisetum glaucum, Pearl Millet) field just outside Delhi, India: http://toroid.org/ams/snd/ploceus-philippinus.mp3 Equipment: Olympus LS-11, in-built microphones, handheld Processing: Normalisation to -1dB in Audacity, plus fade-in/out I'm posting this to share the astonishing variety of calls that these small birds produce. You can hear a few other birds (Grey Francolin at the start, Collared Dove in the middle, House Crows later), but most of the squeaking, whistling, chirping, and other sounds are from the weaver birds. (The recording isn't free of human noise=E2=80=94this was near a vil= lage with people working in the fields=E2=80=94but I hope it's not too obtrusive= .) Thanks for listening. -- Abhijit |
