Abhijit...   thank you for trying to find the original file.   It's quite p=
ossible that the original was not actually erased and could be recovered (u=
ndeleted) if you want to spend the time/energy.

BTW...  After I saw your post, I tried compressing some of my old cicada re=
cordings and got multiple strange effects.  In addition to emphasizing unwa=
nted components, it introduced odd sound patterns that were not audible (? =
present) in the original.  Your recording was excellent, so you must have u=
sed minimal compression and/or just the right settings.

In any case, I look forward to hearing your next cicada recordings.  Thanks=
