Have long been trying to get good portability, lively stereo image, wind
protection, mic quality and a low profile all in one package. Recently I got a
pair of DPA's new Reference Series 2006C mics and have begun using them in
headworn mode.

The mics are attached by hose/jubilee clips and cable ties to a Beyerdynamic
headphone headband, which is available as a spare part. Rycote foams cover the
bodies of each mic and Rycote furries can be added on top when it's blowy. A
MixPre goes under the jacket, thence to a handheld recorder.

Here's one recording which is part of an attempt to make a sound map of
London's canals and minor rivers:

A very close-up recording of two blokes and me rubbing the top of a granite
sound sculpture, which makes a resonant droning sound:

Would appreciate some feedback from the keen ears and wider sound vocabularies
of naturerecordists posters.

Cheers
Ian
