Basic xy captures width and depth, and many people would consider it three dimensional. Adding "true" to that, does not reveal anything more. Height and rear imagery may be useful for some applications, but even if ambisonic can create a more realistic sense of the recording location, and even if some users will be amazed by capabilities, that still does not make it "true" - what ever that is.
