July 2-5pm. The Australian Forum for Acoustic Ecology is very excited to have Douglas Quin present his extensive knowledge of place and sound. After successful presentations in Brisbane and Canberra, he will be in Melbourne to talk about his thoughts on landscape and nature, with specific regard to Antarctica and other wild places he has visited. Douglas has had considerable experience in sound design, the production and installation of public space projects, and the creation of television, radio and internet programs on acoustic ecology, soundscape and the natural environment. He was recently the sound designer for Werner Herzog=E2=80=99s award-winning documentary about life i= n Antarctica, Encounters at the End of the World. |
