A male Phainopepla giving a mew vocalization while displaying from 300 feet. The display consisted of leaning forward and slightly raising and fanning his tail. A silent female was about 2 feet away. During the second half of the recording the female had flown off, but the male continued to display. (Recorded by Jim Morgan, Fain Park, Prescott Valley, AZ, 6/5/02, 8:48 am) Sound file at: http://soundcloud.com/fundador/1567-44-95-phainopepla-calls Best regards, Jim Morgan Prescott, AZ USA |
