Humidity and BP4025?

Hi,

I posted a month ago about recording dialog + ambient noises and received s=
ome great advice. I've decided on an SD 302 mixer plus a handheld dynamic d=
ialog mic.

Now I'm trying to settle on the stereo mic or pair.

The specs and some sample recordings I have heard of Audio-Technica's BP404=
5 make it seem like a bargain for the price. I'm thinking about picking one=
up along with a Rycote Baby Ball Gag.

I'd typically be recording an hour at a time ... at most, not full days or =
nights. In between recording, if I'm hiking, I'd have the mic stored in a b=
ag w/silica.

I live in Virginia ... and during the summer 80%+ humidity isn't uncommon. =
Am I asking for frustration with a LDC like the BP4025? Any experiences or =
advice?

I know the gold-standard is the MKH series. But I'm comparing $700-ish for =
the BP4025 + Rycote kit vs almost $3,000 for a set of MKH 8040's + Rycote. =
If the BP will do the job ... I'd love it.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Michael
