David, Ravens make a lot of different sounds, and these honking and ronking=
s all
sound like ravens to me.=A0 You also have goldcrests singing nearby.=A0
Fairly=A0quiet, once described to me like someone cycling with a squeaky pe=
dal.=A0=A0
Goldcrests most at home in conifer woodland, so imagine you were recording =
in
either mixed or conifer woods.
Incidentally, I don't have any audio gear now, since my mini-CD recorder be=
came
unreliable.=A0=A0 I don't particularly want to make serious recordings, but=
would
like some gear that is not going to push my finances too far, but would mak=
e
reasonable records 'shots' of things I hear around for my self and friends,=
although, if good enough, I would add to my camcorder recordings (Canon XM2=
).=A0=A0
BBC Wildlife magazine recommended the Zoom H2, a while ago, and I've notice=
d on
this forum, people recommending the Olympus LC10.=A0=A0 I'd also use the ma=
chine as
field dictaphone (for taking notes), and recording meetings (as I am sec. o=
f the
local Wildlife Trust branch).=A0=A0 Any advice?
