Quiet(er) Airliners? Someday

An interesting article on patent Boeing is pursuing.  Though as a occasional 
airline traveler I wonder if the design will make  the cabin louder.  But as a 
nature recordist I would accept the louder cabin if it made the ground quieter; 
typically I wear earplugs when flying anyway.
