Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all. Each year, around this time, the toyon berries on around our place in the Sonoma Valley ripen and begin to ferment (not unlike the grapes that grow here). American robins, alcoholics that they are, gather literally by the thousands during breaks in the the weather and midday to feast on the fruit, staggering around drunk on the driveway, colliding with each other, and bumping into trees. All pretty funny to see. Just posted a clip, Drunk_robins...a short clip done captured on a Zoom H4N and heavily processed to attenuate the wind noise (since we're in the middle of a series of storms).
