Hector,

The PBB2N is based on the Crown SASS design and is a DIY modified
version of it.  The SASS used OPEN CELL FOAM for the nose.  Yoga
blocks are CLOSED CELL FOAM.

The idea is that the foam nose does let some sound through.  Whether
or not you would be just as well off using closed cell foam is a
matter of debate and experimentation.  The nose creates a simplified
head shape and the SASS and PBB2N and similar designs are classed as
quasi-binaural.
