Hello all, over the weekend=C2=A0I made a home made SASS from wood, with pl=
ans that
Rob Danielson had sent me. I made a couple of changes to the=C2=A0original =
plan,
first made the 'nose' longer and also tapered it inward towards the ends to=
 the
point where it was 2.5 inches at the end of the nose. I then filled the bac=
k
with expanding foam and also all the crevices around the nose and the two A=
T4022
mikes. The expanding foam was then cut away and taped in place with electri=
cal
tape. This is one=C2=A0ugly looking device! I have nicknamed it=C2=A0"The N=
ose"... Today=C2=A0I
had a chance to field test it. Some of you may remember a family of Ravens=
=C2=A0I
recorded in their nest. I found them feeding on something dead today. Here'=
s the
recording with the home made SASS into Fostec FR2LE.=C2=A0 If you click on =
the photo
on the soundcloud 'track' you can see the 'nose'.
