Great stuff, Martyn. I'm privileged to have a whole "herd" of raccoons that=

visit my home every evening. They live in the river bottom and come up at
night to see what we might have left out to eat. I've observed that they
and Ravens have a lot of common behaviors. Both are incredibly circumspect=

about new things and situations (as your video makes clear) - they are both=

generalists and opportunists, and they are obviously very intelligent, but=

they really need to trust that something new isn't a threat. This caution
must serve them both very well, they seem to thrive. I suppose when you are=

an opportunist you expose yourself to lots of new situations on the chance=

you may find a new resource. But this is a dangerous tactic, so caution is=

called for.
