Given the opportunity, the big dog would get a goat.=A0 When he was a pup, =
one knocked my mom off her feet and he's hated them ever since.=A0 But he's=
an old big dog now, and even catching rabbits is not something he's that g=
ood at anymore.=A0 Lost half a foot to a rattler a few years back.=A0 Cance=
r, ingrown hair which is making him mostly blind and other things these day=
s.=A0 Still happy as a lark and going up and down stairs just fine.
The cat caught a rabbit about the same size as the cat and brought him to t=
he door and dropped him while bringing it into the house.=A0 He jumped the =
chain link fence with that rabbit in his jaws.=A0 And the ruckus of trying =
to chase a scared rabbit out of the house.=A0 A potentially bleeding all ov=
er the carpet scared rabbit (but it wasn't, it exited the front door with s=
ome encouragement and got away).=A0
Rabbits tend to make a sound similar to piglets squealing when you try to c=
atch them when the rabbits are in the jaws of a big dog.=A0 Not that I'm a =
fan of rabbits of late.=A0 They've been nesting on my engine block and chew=
ing on the red wires to my MAP sensor for the past year plus.=A0 Red and Wh=
ite wires, the teal one they seem to leave alone.=A0 Although once I put a =
few of those screw caps on they've stopped chewing (mostly).=A0 I guess the=
y think it's a mushroom now instead of a tasty carrot.=A0 They are still ne=
sting there as their fur is all over the place on that engine.=A0 There was=
even a rabbit nest by the door to my car one time.=A0 I was getting in my =
car and I hear this ruckus like I'm being assaulted by birds so I look up a=
nd not a bird around.=A0 Turns out I was partially standing on a nest of ba=
by rabbits.=A0 A very well hidden nest.
I ended up killing a rattle snake in the yard the other week and leaving th=
e carcass in proximity of said car for about a week has made the rabbits qu=
ite scarce for now.=A0 That crazy cat was boxing with said snake.=A0 And it=
was all up like a cobra and they sound nothing like they do in the movies.=
=A0 At least not when they're mad.=A0 11pm seems to be the witching hour fo=
r those critters.=A0 My first rattler (with rattles), but every snake I got=
at night was in the backyard between 11pm and midnight, so far.
