Hi Kevin--
It can seem gruelling to encounter, as you and
Michael seem to be suggesting, frequent, "please
tell me what equipment I should buy" posts. When
I stop to read such a post and think about what
I'd need to know about the person's interests,
the "right" answer for that individual becomes
more about endeavor and encounter than gear. We
know that "tech" as in "technique" is thoroughly
interesting in terms of personal goals,
collective goals, feats, disappointments and
re-thinking goals,... certainly not simple or
solved. I love it when someone with deep
experience can make an innocent question as big
as it truly is. Rob D.
