Mark,
Are you thinking of trying to pack several days into one card ? If I am awa=
y for days at a time I try to download my sounds each day to my laptop (I u=
sually have my car with me) - that way I know what I captured is at least a=
s safe as the laptop ! I worry that if several days recordings were in my r=
ecorder and I lost it, dropped it, fell in a river etc the whole lot may be=
lost. No good for backpacking - but then buying some extra cards, changing=
every 1-2 days, and keeping them in a ziplock bag, may be a useful "insura=
nce" against the cost of your trip and time (which may probably be more tha=
n the cost of the cards !). Just a thought. ("Just because I'm paranoid it =
doesn't mean the whole lot won't go wrong" !)
