BTW, the Short-eared Owl has been thought of in the past as vocalizing  
only a few times per hour.  That has been my experience with this  
species.  One night I only heard one song series.  The best recording  
I have of this species was a night it only sang a few times.  Your  
bird sounds quite vigorous with very frequent song.  The BNA monograph  
reports that it "May be more vocal than previously reported (DWH)"   
John, you have clearly documented that it can be "more vocal than  
previously reported."  Be sure to hold on to that recording.
