Hi Mitch,
The ME67 provides a more directional polar pattern, which can be an advantage
for isolating individual singing birds from background noise. See:

The disadvantage of the M67 is that it is considerably longer and therefore a
bit bulky compared to the more compact ME66. I therefore prefer the ME 66
because it finds its place in any backpack.

Fortunately, the K6 module (which has a transformerless output circuit) does
not require any additional transformer if you need to connect it to an
unbalanced input. You can instead just leave the unused lead open or connect it
