Which is consistent, Richard, with a signal to noise ration of 75 dB,
1 kHz at 1 Pa as specified in AT's spec sheet:

Phantom rather than battery-powering has improved self-noise
performance with some mics with this option. A comparison  test in a
quiet location at made at 3/4 to full gain should be able to
determine this. What recorder are you using the mic with? Rob D.
