Perhaps this depends on the price range and support needed from the manufac=
ture. Capsules with more sensitive and lower noise are in the range of a fe=
w dollars to put this in perspective. Once those are packaged / assembled t=
hey are still half the price of a DPA solution but not standard as the DPA'=
s are. Factor in odd sockets / plugs, powering and the DPA's are probably t=
he better solution than a bespoke one. Theres a comfort zone knowing a trie=
d and tested mic.
