Hi John et al--

In the model I'm suggesting, the database would create files with
embedded metadata. Hopefully this feature can serve a very
significant role in getting important data people want into the
consolidation app; maybe Charles' ixml project can eventually aspire
towards creating agreement about how to assign the chunks. Strong
agreement is needed in the tag dept, or there's more trouble than
return.

Audition is expensive and not cross-platform so I'll let that option rest.

After the Recordist Campout, end of the month, I'll start the
dialogue with my SWS contact.

The slowest front is the Database development because of on-line
tailoring is in the picture too. If anyone has contacts with MYSQL or
similar Database skills, I'd appreciate the leads. If they don't have
free time, maybe I can at least pick their brains. I'm on a fixed
income but I do have morel mushrooms (and fame among reclusive sound
recordists) as barter. Thanks everyone for the productive discussion.
