Hi Martyn,

22/3? Ive been to Puerto Vallarta many moons ago.

Nice to post sea sounds, last week I recorded the beach near maspalomas/gra=
n canaria/span. - both above and below the water line, heres a short clip
from "above"

Alternatively the normalized recording of the beach minus the D50 reference=
:-

This beach sloped down quite fast, leading into the water and eventually so=
aking
me and the rig. - Check if you can hear when I backed off and splashed for=
cover, the tide was rapidly coming in.

I dangled the mic around 1-2 ft above the waves and went strolling.

I was surprised it worked so well, last time I tried this with a dummy head=
was on the beach at Monte Gordo Portugal, but it was full of very strong p=
hasing and whooshing sounds. I learned a lot from that location and even mo=
re from the one in the recording above.

Recorder: LS10 (not the D50 as shown) 48Khz, 24Bit
Mic: DIY as shown in photo + dead kittens.

Its fun to slow down such recordings 1/2 speed or more to bring out all the=
details. It also makes the soundscape much wider.

Fun :)

Kind Regards,
Mike
