Dear Rob and TomR,

Thanks for your help. Yes the thread I was looking for was a message dated June
4th 2009 from Kevin Colver (not Lang - sorry guys) who recommended Sony MDR W08
- which are the ones which just died on me, (and the mechanics of which work
just right for me, still purchasable on Amazon I have now found).

But I could not find from the Yahoo site using the search engine there which
will not find recent posts within the last 11 months - at least not from the UK
where I am now sitting for 2 days (usually I sit in Switzerland) and from where
Max had the same problems. So there is a glitch somewhere.

Offline Ray Mansell very kindly sent me the exact post I was looking for - he
found it using his Thunderbird system which enabled the search. I just tested
this using the Gmail search which is how I read the list - and it worked !

So warning to all, from the Yahoo root site the search engine seems to have a
glitch (dunno how we solve that one), so use your email search facility if it
has one - or maybe better still use the archive which Rob and TomR have now
reminded me of (and which I will now bookmark !).

Thanks all - what great group !

C
