Ah yes, I suspected something like this. Are they placed on the small 
wooden boundaries like Curt's rigs?  Absolutely this placement does 
affect the performance and they way the test movies are interpreted. 
The AT4002 omni  should respond better to such boundary arrangement, 
spatially, and this accounts for the left of center imaging for some 
of the effects I selected (audible i the last segment). The boundary 
placement should not affect the diffuse, distant voices passing 
through walls.

I should have suggested positioning the mics in the open, right next 
to each other so they receive the same input. The boundary use 
shouldn't affect the self-noise evaluation though, our primary 
curiosity. Rob D.
