I can only share what I learned when I replaced my first GPS with a better model: a helical antenna makes a huge difference. The "box" antenna gets lost in the forest, but the helical can keep on tracking. Not always, when the land gets steep, but dramatically better. Garmin has both PC and Mac software now. I wish someone made a GPS track and waypoint librarian program. I like to keep a certain collection of waypoints in my unit. When I add a few on a trip, I have to import the whole collection into the computer, then delete the duplicates. Dumb. -Dan Dugan |
