Zoom's rating of battery life at 4.5 hours is optimistic. If you're using = phantom power, I'd guess the battery life will be less than 3 hours. Run ti= me will be even shorter if you're using the backlighting on the LCD display= . This isn't a criticism of Zoom, just advice that an external power source w= ill be needed if you plan to record for an extended period. The R16's mains power supply puts out 5V DC, 1 amp current.
