Hi Bill I use something very similar to Raimund's unit to power a Sony MZ-RH1 via USB, it is one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Kensington-Battery-Pack-Charger-iPhone/dp/B0017H4G0A/ref=dp_cp_ob_e_image_1 So far it seems to work fine at powering the Sony. It has two different types of USB socket on it, a mini USB socket which is used to charge the unit and a full sized USB socket to connect to the device you wish to power. It will recharge an 80 gig iPod twice and I also use it as a backup for an iPhone which it will also charge quite happily. It has proved an invaluable source of mobile power. Regards Phil |
