Hi Grant Finlay Delightful to hear the Bellbirds singing on West Beach Ulva Island. It took me back to our visit Nov last year. A Weka climbed all over my backpack looking for handouts-within touching distance- as we had lunch on that beach. My Wild New Zealand CD is now available for minimal cost on iTunes including two tracks of Bellbirds. Are the Australian Bellbirds the same species as the New Zealand critters ? Do you think Martyn Stewart travelling from Stewart to Ulva Island might claim Ulva as well as Stewart Island! Thanks for sharing your recording. John Neville |
