In theory, I like the idea of matched pairs. But as a practical  
matter, I can't help but suspect that any random pair of almost any  
reasonably good model microphone, built under the same protocols, will  
probably be better matched than the two ears of most people older than  
about 35 or 40.

I'm sure someone here will correct me if I'm wrong.
