Nick at SD reported to me that Mac version of Wave Agent (v1.05)
doesn't support .flac processing. I'm not sure if this applies to
only 4 channel poly flacs or not. I'm not sure if there is another
app available to unpack them on the mac platform. I'm avoiding .flac
recording in the meantime.

This is how I saved my 4 channel recordings:
(1) Open-up the SD created .flac files in Amadeus Pro. This create an
odd multitrack session-- essentially, unplayable.

(2) Save this file as a (huge) Sound Designer II file. SD II has no
file size limit and seems to be poly capable at least in Amadeus Pro.

(3) Open the large Sound Designer II file in Amadeus Pro and export
the individual tracks as mono or stereo .aiff, .wav etc.
