Thanks for the advice!  I really consider this almost a one time purchase (=
within reason!) as I expect to use these for years and years.  My main prob=
lem is being able to listen to some of these speakers before I buy.  The ch=
oice here in Canada is more limited so I can't go down to a store and try m=
any of these brands out.  I will try and find some of these you recommend a=
bove.

I edit in a very similar way.  For the more precise editing I use headphone=
s and for the less important tasks I like to use speakers.  It would be nic=
e to have the option to edit both ways in the future.
