10 adds the ability to record files larger than 2GB. No upper limit

Subject: 10 adds the ability to record files larger than 2GB. No upper limit
was specified, so I assume the new firmware will allow you to record
until you run out of free space on the memory card.

The firmware also adds two new sampling rates: 88.2 kHz in both 16
bit or 24 bit quantization.

Most audio files are distributed on CD or DVD in a 44.1 kHz, 16 bit
WAV format. Making the original recording with 88.2 kHz means the
reduction to 44.1 is simpler (just throw out every other sample) than,
say, the conversion from 96 kHz to 44.1 kHz. Some people think this
helps preserve the sound of the original recording.

Olympus has recently released two accessories for the LS-10. The
first is the WJ-1 Windjammer, a furry wind blocking cap that covers
the LS-10's built-in mics. The furry cap reduces the sound of wind
passing the mics better than the foam wind screens included with the
LS-10. Use both foam and furry wind screens for best protection. The
cost is about $50 USD.

The second accessory is the RS30 infrared remote control (about $40
USD). The RS30 includes a very small receiver and a hand-held
infrared signaler. The receiver weighs only 10 g, and it plugs into
the LS-10 between the built-in mics. The receiver has a pivot so it
can be positioned in line with the LS-10's body, or raised at a 90
degree angle. This latter position is useful when the recorder is
sitting on a table top, or mounted on a tripod and pointing at the
subject you're trying to record.

The hand-held signaling unit (20g with battery) simply starts and
stops recording. The LS-10 must be turned on manually before the
remote control will work. In my living room, the signaling unit can
control the RS30 up to a distance of up to 7 or 8 meters. It might be
possible to find a stronger infrared signaling unit, perhaps a TV
remote control, that will work at a greater distance.
