I picked up a used SASS-P MkII to see if I like it enough before I do
any mods to it (ala Walter Knapp). I tested it with the other mics I
have (R0de NT4, Sennheiser ME62 & ME64 pairs) to see if the self-noise
was acceptable... I'm not sure that in its current state (with the PZM
boundary mics) that it is quiet enough for most nature recording.
Is anyone on the list using this rig in its original state? If so- how
& when do you use it to your satisfaction? I'd like to get a bit of
feedback before I do any modification.
Although- I was thinking that I might be able to rig the ME62's, or
another smaller omni, under the PZM's... there might be enough room to
keep the original & have 4 mics in the same box.
