I received a PMD661 this morning. It's a handsome, businesslike box.
Here are a few photos.
The PMD661 is considerably larger than pocket-size. Here it's shown
with a Tascam DR-1 (on the left) and an Olympus LS-10 (right).

However, the PMD661 doesn't look so big if you add a 48V battery box
to the small recorder.

Set up for recording. The Rode NT1A mic works fine with the phantom
power provided by the recorder.
