Dan Dugan | There's an interesting new product from Audio-Technica, the BP4025 X/Y | Field Recording Mic. | | <http://www.audio-technica.com/cms/wired_mics/5bbed15003fe56a2/> | | It's an XY pair (on a tiny barrier) of large-diaphragm electrets. | Sensitivity is high, -32 dB re 1V at 1 Pa, and self-noise is 14 dBA. | Phantom power down to 11V, 5-pin XLR. Response and polar plots look a | bit rough. Street price around $600. Yes rather odd 2 semi coincident mic capsules at about 160deg. Suppose they= must have added some X-talk to simulate a more conventional angle. |
