That's a strange coincidence; last night on the first of the BBC2
Autumnwatch programs, the very same news was given by Simon King!
This episode is available to watch via the BBC's Iplayer if anyone wants
to. It doesn't state this as a fact, but illustrates it in an
interesting manner.
