The Nature of Nature, a concert of new works featuring new,
experimental instruments, electronics and surround sound, will be
performed at garden of the Oakland Museum of California on Sunday,
October 12 at 8 PM.
Featured artists include composers Krsytyna Brobrowski, Guillermo
Galindo and Wendy Reid; sound designer and composer Dan Dugan; and
guest performers Tom Dambly (trumpet, kelp horn) and Lulu, the african
gray parrot. The use of the Great Court Gardens for this concert,
rather than the James Moore Auditorium is meant to create a sense of
space and ambiance which will allow the audience to stroll, sit, or
stand in its observation of the performances
This unique evening of nature sounds and new music is presented by the
Nature Sounds Society, the Oakland Museum of California, and is
supported in part by Subito, the quick advancement program of the bay
area chapter of American Composers Forum.
