On all the pictures and info I can find on the Olympus site the LS10 has ju=
st the one 3.5 mm microphone jack as a microphone=C2=A0input therefore it h=
as to be unbalanced. A Balanced input requires 3 connections; earth, live a=
nd return. You could double up on the earth but that would still require tw=
o live, two returns and the=C2=A0one earth making for five connections in t=
otal. So it very much looks like it would be an unbalanced input.

Subject: [Nature Recordists] LS-10 Input

Can someone on the group clear up something for me please? A week or
two ago I read the review of the LS-10 on the WSRS site, and noticed
something that puzzled me. In the penultimate paragraph it mentioned
unbalanced 3.5mm inputs. My confusion lies in the fact that I wrote to
Olympus some time ago, and asked if the mic input was balanced; their
reply was yes.
I did email the WSRS asking them to clarify, but have received no reply.
