Bernie and All,
I'll change the Subject of this thread to not distract from Grant's
Podcast thread.
So, if Apple would hire me in their marketing department, here's what
I'd suggest. They should come out, with great fanfare, with a new
Genre in their iTunes store. The can call it the "Green Apple"
section. They can announce that they strongly support efforts to
appreciate, record, conserve, and restore the natural habitats of the
earth.
To show that support they will feature sounds of the planet. They
would promote the appreciation of these sounds, the education of the
public, and the preservation of quiet places and natural
soundscapes. They can feature nature recordist superstars such as
many of you on this list. They can feature nature's own superstars,
she has many. The "Green Apple sounds of the Earth" will make for
great TV, radio, and internet advertising. Maybe they can even
pledge some of the profits to conservation efforts - and get kudos
for doing so. They can join forces with the Nature Conservancy and
others. And so on.
