Well, I would join in the chorus urging you to buy something and sell
it on the backside. While far from ideal the Zoom H2 is really really
easy to find, easy to use, easy to resell, and would probably give
better results, even with its less than ideal analog inputs. It's only
US$180, and I am 100% sure you recoup at least $125 of that on return
if necessary...
I would happily send you one of my old minidisc recorders to use, but
not only do they record in a compressed format, they're much more
finicky than the Zoom in some respects to use -- especially if you're
not familiar with wrangling them. At least with the latter you just
record on SD memory cards that you can pop in a computer at your
convenience... (but if you already are familiar with MD-wrangling,
contact me off-list.)
