Hi Roy-- There are some precautions for Hi-MD recording that greatly reduce the likelihood of lost data. Here's a handout we give to students that you can look over: http://www.uwm.edu/~type/116/Hi-MD-Handbook/06116-HiMD-Hndbk.htm or as a pdf: http://www.uwm.edu/~type/116/Hi-MD-Handbook/06116-HiMD-Hndbk.pdf You might recognize a set-up step or two that you want to adopt. I'd guess that 90% of the time, lost data can be traced to powering problem but there are other precautions that will improve your chances. We rarely loose data including whole semesters without incident. Can you play your disk? Rob D. -- |
