When I ask those questions I found my answers at www.buchmann.ca.  The
online book has everything you never knew you wanted to know about
batteries.  I jumped in at Ch 10 'Getting the most from your
batteries' then read Ch 15 'Caring for your batteries from birth to
retirement'.  Then I went back and read it from the beginning to end.
 It's the most comprehensive and comprehendable source of information
I've found on the subject.
