Greetings Roger, Since you have obviously been smitten by the Lyrebirds unique sound capabilities, you might want to communicate with Mr. Sydney Curtis of this= list. He is, in my opinion, the grand master Lyrebirds and Australian critters in general. Syd is also one of the most fetching writers, as well= as recordists, I have had the pleasure to communicate with. Mr. Curtis has recordings of incredible mimicry by Lyrebirds including a= recording, and story of a farmer's child learning his flute while a Lyrebir= d was learning the farm boy, incredible stuff. The story that narrates this marvel is as magnetic as the Lyrebirds abilities to mimic. If you can locate Mr. Curtis through the list I promise a wonderful and stimulating adventure. Enjoy! J. |
