I agree.  Remember that the flash memory cards are rated to retain a
recording for about 10 years.  Magneto-optical discs like Hi-MD are
expected to last a lot longer, perhaps 100 years.

Amazing deals for flash memory are available from time to time.  I
recently purchased a 4GB SDHC card for $40, with a $40 mail in rebate.
 The check just arrived, so my net cost for that 4GB is zero.
