Hello All I've just watched "Bill Oddie's Wild Side" on the BBC 2 channel (second most important BBC TV channel). This is screened at 8.00pm on Wednesdays - prime time viewing. Each episode of this series includes a segment devoted to Chris Watson demonstrating, and explaining, some aspect of wild life recording - absolutely gripping stuff. Tonight it was all about underwater sounds and dolphins. The program is outlined at http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbctwo/listings/programme.shtml?day=today&service_id=4224&filename=20080213/20080213_2000_4224_24043_30 Unfortunately I cannot find a link to the place where one can view recordings of the programme over the internet. Essential viewing for UK members of Naturerecordists. Remember this is prime time TV and Bill Oddie has a tremendous following in the UK. I expect an increased interest in wild life recording - at least in the UK. Cheers - TomR |
