It was something over thirty years ago that as an Australian national park
administrator, I was on a study tour in the United States. Relevant to the
work with our Chillagoe Caves N P in northern Queensland, was the excellent
management/interpretation of Carlsbad Caverns, where I was given a most
instructive tour by a local officer.

But I had deliberately arrived early - just on daybreak, and was awed by th=
e
heavenly music of the large number of cave-swelling swallows. Absolute
silence because of the location, except for the birds. And their voices
enhanced by the acoustics of their "concert hall".

Probably not what you are looking for Alex, but if I'm very lucky, you, or
someone at Nat/Recs will record, and then perhaps some day I'll be able to
hear the recording.

In hope!
