May I suggest that, if you do not have the oportunity to recharge batteries=
that you
should not be considering rechargeable batteries and use good quality alkal=
ine types
instead.
I don't know about the Marantz PMD-671, but if it takes external battery po=
wer as well,
then small sealed lead acid batteries do keep their charge a long time and =
may be suitable
for backup.
An alternative it to take a larger lead acid battery and use that to charge=
AA
rechargeable batteries in the field. You will need a suitable charger that =
workes from
