Sound Devices has released a new version of firmware for the 702, 722 and 744t recorders. This update was available in beta form for a few weeks. Now it's official. One useful addition to the firmware is the ability to record using FLAC, a lossless compressed format. FLAC will increase your file storage space by 30 to 50 percent. FLAC files can be played back in the recorder. Read more about the new features in the firmware release here.
