I don't think it's color. Lang was recording in the middle of the night the times he had problems with beaver. I expect they might be detecting the electrical field of the cable. In Lang's case they did not just cut it once, but cut it up in short sections. I'd kind of think the packrats might be looking for salt on the cable. Of course they will mess with anything that's unusual in their environment. I choose a color that's not too bright but stands out so I can see it against a natural background. All my stereo cables are blue. Walt |
